Revau is proud to announce the appointment of Nicolas Fillion as Chief Risk Officer. In this new role, Nicolas will oversee the company’s risk management framework and help ensure Revau’s long-term stability. He will lead reinsurance and alternative risk transfer strategies, strengthen compliance with regulatory requirements, and play a key role in strategic planning and acquisitions as a member of the executive team. His mandate also includes supporting departments across the organization that can benefit from his expertise, particularly in data analytics, compliance, actuarial science, and reinsurance.
Nicolas brings more than 20 years of experience in insurance, finance, and risk management. Before joining Revau, he served as Director of Financial Performance, Capital, and Treasury at Desjardins General Insurance Group, where he led major initiatives to enhance performance, optimize capital, and played a central role in the transaction that took ICPEI private. Earlier in his career, Nicolas developed deep expertise in actuarial science, financial advisory, and mergers and acquisitions, giving him a strong understanding of insurance companies, IFRS 17, and enterprise risk.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science from Laval University, along with professional designations including CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), FRM (Financial Risk Manager), and CBV (Chartered Business Valuator). His leadership and experience will be key assets as Revau continues to strengthen its risk management strategy and expand its specialized insurance operations across North America.
